One of the biggest draws of Granada is how affordable it is compared with most of Western Europe. Here is what daily life actually costs.

Rent is the biggest variable

A room in a shared flat is roughly 300-450 EUR, a one-bedroom apartment roughly 600-850 EUR, and a family apartment roughly 800-1,300 EUR depending heavily on neighbourhood.

Eating out is genuinely cheap

Granada's free-tapas tradition means a drink and a snack often costs under 3.50 EUR, and a set lunch runs 12-15 EUR. Groceries for one are roughly 35-55 EUR a week.

Sample budgets

  • Student sharing: roughly 700-950 EUR per month all in
  • Couple in a one-bed: roughly 1,400-1,900 EUR per month
  • Family in a three-bed: roughly 2,000-2,800 EUR per month
